Star Catcher • A coding adventure for ages 8–12
The stars are going dark. Your child codes them back.
Codestronauts teaches kids to code through story. In Star Catcher, our first mission, your child types real JavaScript to wake a nervous robot named Cody, rebuild a starship and relight the Great Beacon. Five episodes, and a real game they built at the end.

Mission 1 • Star Catcher: Relight the Beacon
Five episodes. One game they build themselves.
Each episode is a self-paced coding lesson and the next part of the story. Every line of code your child types moves the adventure forward.
Episode 1 · 15 minWake Up, CodyA call for help, a sleeping robot and an empty hangar
Episode 2 · 25 minThruster TroubleTeach the Star Catcher to fly and count every starbit
Episode 3 · 25 minMeteor StormA Level-Up drive, a flipped question and a visitor on the viewscreen
Episode 4 · 25 minRadio SilenceCody has lost her voice. Only you can bring it back
Episode 5 · 40 minThe Hive RockThe final battle for the Beacon
What they learn: running code, calling functions, variables, keyboard controls, keeping score, if statements, events, reading error messages and debugging, all in JavaScript.
How it works
It plays like a game. It’s real coding.
- Typed code, not dragged blocks. Press Run and the game changes right beside the code.
- Hints, not answers. Cody points at the right line when they’re stuck, but lets them find the fix.
- Help that fades. Early on Cody shows the way. By the end they write code from just a goal.
- Nothing to install. Plays in the browser on a phone, laptop or desktop.

FAQ
Questions parents ask
Does my child need any coding experience?
None. Episode 1 starts with pressing Run, and Cody explains every new word right after your child sees it work.
Is there a live teacher?
No. Episodes are self-paced. Cody guides every step, and each episode is designed so kids can finish without an adult.
What do we need?
A phone, laptop or desktop with a web browser. Everything runs in the browser.
What happens after Star Catcher?
Star Catcher is a complete story with a finished game at the end. Mission 2, Constellation Painter, picks the story up from there with five more episodes, and more missions are on the way. You decide whether your child gets them.
